Opelousas man arrested by AG Murrill's LBI for 38 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Materials Under the Age of 13

Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents arrested an Opelousas man for 38 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Materials Under the Age of 13.

30-year-old Jeremy Paul Richard, of Homer Richard Road in Opelousas, was arrested on March 5, for violating:

  • 38 counts - LA R.S.14:81.1E(5)(a) Child sexual abuse materials under the age of thirteen

LBI agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which kickstarted their investigation.

This arrest was the result of an investigation involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, and the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Richard was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.

HIs bond information is pending assignment.

The investigation continues.
