AG Murrill's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit arrests woman for pushing a victim in the back of the head while working as a direct service worker at a home for individuals with developmental disabilities
Attorney General Liz Murrill's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit recently arrested a woman for pushing a victim in the back of the head while working as a direct service worker at a premier home for individuals with developmental disabilities located in the Town of Boyce in Rapides Parish.
40-year-old Geneva G. Johnson, was arrested without incident on March 12, for:
- 1 Count - La. R.S. 14:35.2 Simple Battery of Persons with Infirmities
Johnson, a former direct service worker at St. Mary’s Residential Community and Services, formerly known as St. Mary’s Residential Training School, located at 6715 Hwy 1 North, in Boyce, is alleged to have committed a battery upon a person who is infirmed, or has a disability, on or about November 10, 2024, when she pushed the resident of the facility in the back of the head with force after a verbal dispute between the victim and another client.
This battery was captured on video surveillance footage within the facility and witnessed by another direct service worker.
Upon completion of an internal investigation, the facility removed Johnson from client care and then "separated from her employment" according to the affidavit.
Johnson's bond was set at $500. She bonded out shortly after we're told.
The investigation is ongoing.
