Former New Orleans teacher arrested by AG Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation now facing additional Video Voyeurism of a child under seventeen charges

A former New Orleans teacher and coach who was previously arrested by AG Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation back in January for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material, is now facing additional charges of Video Voyeurism of a child under seventeen. 

On March 23, 49-year-old Benoit Cransac, was rearrested on additional charges of:

  • 14:283 B(4) Video Voyeurism of a child under seventeen - 17 counts

This arrest is part of our ongoing investigation into the illicit online activity of Benoit Cransac.

Cransac was already in custody at the Orleans Justice Center when he was rearrested on these additional charges.

He's a French national with legal residence in the United States. We're told Cransac was fired by Isidore Newman School when the first charges came to light.

Here's a breakdown of all the charges he's currently facing right now:

  • Initial arrest on January 8 - Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material: 22 counts
  • On January 21, Cransac was rearrested for - Child Sexual Abuse Material: 3 counts
  • On March 23, Cransac was rearrested for - Video Voyeurism of a child under seventeen: 17 counts

“This is an ongoing investigation, and we will ensure that all appropriate charges are brought against Cransac," said Attorney General Liz Murrill.

Cransac remains in custody at the Orleans Justice Center.

His bond information is unknown at this time.
