Attorney General Liz Murrill's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit secured a guilty plea for a Labadieville woman on three counts of Medicaid Fraud.

On March 25, 2026, 42-year-old Keisha Kennedy, of Hwy 1. in Labadieville, pled guilty as charged in the19th JDC to:

  • Three counts of Medicaid Fraud, a violation of La. R.S. 14:70.1

Kennedy’s sentence was deferred under art. 893 and she was placed on two years of active supervised probation with conditions to pay $5,000 cost of prosecution, pay $404.75 court costs, pay probations fees of $65 per month, maintain employment, remain drug free, remain alcohol free, refrain from possessing firearms, and refrain from further criminal conduct.

Between July 2020 and January 2021 Keisha Kennedy operated as a Medicaid provider claiming to have hired an employee to provide medical services to her disabled minor child. However, an investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit uncovered that Keisha Kennedy never actually hired any employees but instead submitted fraudulent billing for services that were never provided to her child. She was originally arrested on April 1, 2024.

This arrest and conviction resulted from an investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit with the Louisiana Department of Justice.
