AG Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Arrests Bastrop Man on 260 Counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a Bastrop man on a total of 260 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material involving children under the age of 13.
Jawann Lamar Randle, 29, of Eden Avenue in Bastrop, was arrested August 25 in Union Parish and booked into the Union Parish Detention Center on the following:
- 230 counts — Fugitive from another jurisdiction (Morehouse Parish: Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material Under the Age of 13)
- 30 counts of LA R.S. 14.81.1 — Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material Under the Age of 13 (Union Parish)
This investigation began when the suspect was found to be uploading CSAM material from a residence in Bastrop, LA. Upon contacting Randle in Union Parish regarding the investigation, he was found to be in possession of additional files of CSAM.
This arrest was the result of a joint investigation with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Randle’s bond was set at $1.5 million.
The investigation remains ongoing.
